The 清宫表 maps two coordinates to a boy/girl prediction. The first coordinate is the mother's lunar age (虚岁) at conception: count from the lunar birth year, adding one year at each lunar new year (this is why a baby born in lunar December is already 2 虚岁 at birth in folk counting). The second is the lunar month of conception. If conception falls in a leap lunar month, tradition says to count the first half as the previous month and the second half as the next month.
